ACES® is a software package which was designed and created at Theradex® in conjunction with the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program of the National Cancer Institute. It provides an electronic version of the standard CTMS Case Report Form for use by study sites for the capture of clinical data and the automated transfer to this data to CTMS. Additional program facilities include automated edit checking, detail reporting, data import and export, and audit trailing.

ACES® (an acronym for "Automated Clinical Evaluation System") was first released in 1985 as a remote data entry system and has evolved through the years.

The current version of the software, ACES® for Windows, is written in Clarion and runs on the Windows operating system. It incorporates an automated audit trail to facilities to design customized electronic Case Report Forms and to transfer data between other ACES® installations; these make it usable for both local and multi-site studies which are not necessarily CTMS monitored. In addition, a comprehensive export module can output data in standard data exchange formats for input to most spreadsheets and data management software packages. The current version of this software is available to all CTMS ACES® users.
